What is Radon?

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that cannot be seen, smelled or tasted. If radon is found in your home, action should be taken to remove it due to the increased risk of getting lung cancer from breathing in the contaminated air. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today and causes approximately twenty-two thousand deaths per year. Radon is only one of many soil gases that is drawn into your home.

How do I know if I have radon?

To find out if your home has radon, you should conduct a test. Radon tests are readily available at many home improvement stores and are inexpensive.  If you are buying a home, you should have a radon test done before you close on the home. Contact Kanah today to schedule a test.
